Professional Work

What makes Divine Beginnings different?
As the most experienced local home birth midwife and a fully licensed WV Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Beth is able to write prescriptions, order lab and medical ultrasound testing, send referrals to physicians and other providers, and bill insurances. Having practiced in the local area for 17 years, Beth has established excellent relationships with the regions OB/GYNs, Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists, imaging facilities, and hospitals, so if those services are needed they are just a call away.

Beth respects your right to medical autonomy and personal decision making for your family. Evidenced-based practice and standards of care are always discussed, as well as the risks, benefits, and alternatives of each. She supports normal, healthy pregnancies and births, but with the safety net of her years of experience to recognize when it's not.

Services
Prenatal Care
Prenatal care visit last an hour or more. This time is necessary to discuss all your options and needs for your pregnancy and birth, as well as to provide plenty of education about normal, physiologic birth. It also gives us plenty of time to develop trust and a professional relationship that will make your labor and birth safer and more meaningful.
